Do You Have an Unusable Conservatory?

A conservatory is not a habitable room, being too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer. Research at Cranfield University has shown that the average South facing conservatory reaches a comfortable temperature for only a couple of hours per day, to extend this time, a heating or cooling system would have to be used. The glass, polycarbonate roof and walls have minimal insulation value. A conservatory in most cases is little more than a greenhouse attached onto the side of a house.
How do you turn a conservator into a sun room? That's easy. You hire a reliable roofing company to do the job. The installation process is very easy to understand. The steps are very easy to go through.

1. On the first day, you take a good, last look at the conservatory with the original polycarbonate roof in place. The old roof is removed, and the new roof is put under construction. The new roof is constructed with graded timbers that are attached to the existing wall plate and the trusses on the roof, and then they are boarded to the outer rim. The rubber sheet is applied. The new rubber roof is applied so it is water-tight overnight.
2. On the second day, the electrics and insulation are put in. The soffits and PVCu fascias are applied. The new edge and gutter trims are applied too.
3. On the third day, the internal cladding in the PVCu is put in with spot lights. You now have a new sun room that is completed and all set up.

It only takes three days to turn an old, useless conservatory into a new sun room.

Some companies do a shoddy job of trying to turn conservatories into rooms that are more habitable during all seasons. They don't do the actual roof replacement though. They might fit insulation or plasterboard beneath the conservatory roofs to try to get some improvements in thermal performance. However, those attempts are highly theoretical. There are also some dangers Condensation that forms might damage the plasterboard. There is also a problem of them not being watertight. Polycarbonate roofs could last ten years or less. The best glass roofs might deteriorate around the same time too. A rubber roof solution has a 50-year guarantee.

The right way to get a sun room that works well all year-round is to replace the roof right. You don't want to do a sub-par job on it. The whole process should only take about three days, Don't fret because it is too cold in the winter or too hot in the summer right now. All you have to do is replace that old conservatory roof the best way.
